Totally agree with you on the Colombia post – except for Colombian Spanish. It is very clear in Bogota but in Cartagena it is spoken with a Caribbean accent so thick many other Colombians cannot understand it.
You’re right – I do remember it being much harder to understand in Cartagena. I think I was so distracted by the beauty of it all that I didn’t mind too much though!
