The Jacket That Travels Everywhere With Me
There are a lot of mistakes I used to make when traveling. I used to be too cheap. I used to plan too much. I used to carry a bulky cotton hoody. Traveling is a learning experience, and to be good at it, you have to constantly adapt.
The hoody had to go. It took up too much precious space in my backpack, looked sloppy, and took forever to dry.
But I still needed something warm to get me through cool evenings or windy mountaintops. It had to be both light and warm. At first, I considered something filled with down, but that would be a no-go in wet conditions.
While browsing the wares of Patagucci one day, I stumbled upon the Patagonia Nano Puff women’s jacket. I waited until it went on sale, then splurged — and I’m so happy I did. Just like these are the best travel flip flops and this is the best travel and outdoors top, I don’t ever travel without this jacket.
My review of the Patagonia Nano Puff women’s jacket:
- Super warm for its size/weight
- Foldable and light
- Water/wind resistant
- Casual, yet cute
- Tears easily (Fine, so I tore mine going under a barbed wire fence, but I need another con!)
As you can see, there aren’t too many cons. It’s a costly piece of gear, but for me, it’s been well worth it. It’s perfect for traveling, hiking, camping, or just about any other outdoors activity.
It really does go everywhere with me. It was the only warm piece of clothing I brought to Nicaragua… and it’s also in my closet in Alaska. I love that I only have to bring one warm item with me when I’m traveling to warm climates. I don’t need anything else.
And if I’m traveling somewhere cold, it makes a wonderful layering piece. It’s shockingly warm for how light and thin it is.
TIP: Try to buy it when it’s included in Patagonia’s “web specials,” which often happens near the end of the summer and winter. That’s when I bought this, and it was about 40% off. For example, here it is right now for $118.
If you’re looking to upgrade your travel or outdoors gear, the Patagonia Nano Puff women’s jacket is a must have. It’s a wonderful travel companion that will take up next to no room in your backpack!
Unfortunately, Patagonia didn’t pay me to write this. I bought (and loved) this jacket on my own accord.
