Travel Links of the Week – 11/22/13

Last week, for the first time in as long as I can remember, I spent an entire day working on this blog. It felt good. It felt good because I love you guys, and I want to give you the best (and best-looking!) info that I can.

And just so you know how much I love you — guess how many hours it took me to create that pretty email sign-up box to to the right. One? Ha! Two? Naw. Three? Now you’re getting warmer. FIVE. Yup, five hours to create that box and adjust the way my emails are sent. (That may be why these emails look different in your inbox.) Clearly, I am not meant to be a techie.

So if you want to love me back, take that email box for a spin and sign-up to receive Travel Junkette updates via email. You have the option of every time I post, or just once or twice a month. Beauty.

Now for the travel links! (Since my site was being buggy last week — after all those brillz fixes, no doubt — I didn’t have a link roundup. Thus, this week there are lots.)

First and foremost, my thoughts and love to everyone in the Philippines. I was lucky enough to visit there last year. It’s a beautiful place with beautiful people. Now listen to Slate: don’t send your old shoes to the Philippines.

Pinterest has rolled out some new place pins, and they’re pretty cool. Here’s Gary Arndt’s awesome Australia board as a prime example.

I have the world’s shittiest phone, so this doesn’t apply to me… make sure it doesn’t apply to you. From Films for Action: After I saw this, I put down my phone and didn’t pick it up for the rest of the day.
